Gary King, 81 of Arkoma, OK passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025. He was born on March 17, 1943 to the late Lester King and Arvel Spradlin King. Gary was a retired sales consultant and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of Arkoma First Baptist Church. Gary enjoyed golfing and sports, he was a big supporter of local high school athletics. He was a 1961 graduate of Spiro High School. He was a long-time supporter of the Arkoma Public Schools, where he served on the school board. He was a member of the Toastmasters Club in California. In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Scott King and two brothers, Bobby King and Neil King.
He is survived by his sister-in-law Ina King of Everett, WA, along with numerous relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Arkoma First Baptist Church, with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro, OK.
Pallbearers will be Michael King, Joe Dix, Steve Reynolds, Bob Traw, Roger Dye, Mark Wheatherton and Charlie Fondren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Arkoma First Baptist Church, 200 Sicard Avenue, Arkoma, OK 74901.
