He was born July 11, 1938, in Gadsden, Alabama to Ralph Sims and Mary Ruth (Cameron) Sims. George was retired from the Insurance Industry, and he enjoyed cooking, playing golf, and watching football.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta; son, David Sims of Fort Smith; daughter, Joanie Kerchevar of Leesburg, Virginia; his brother, Robert Sims of Tupelo, Mississippi; and two grandsons, Evan and Dylan Kerchevar.
Memorial Service will be 11 AM Saturday, October 24, 2026 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.
