George W. Staton, Jr., 85 of Fort Smith, AR, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. He was born on December 9, 1939, in Fort Smith, AR to the late George W. Staton, Sr. and Mary Ellen Jones. He was also preceded in death by stepfather Julius Jones.
George was retired from Correll Corporation in Charleston, AR where he worked as purchasing manager and was a member of Harvest Time Church in Fort Smith for 47 years. George served his country in the United States Air Force. Led by his strong faith, George believed in helping his community and those in need thru charitable giving.
George will be deeply missed by his surviving family that includes his wife of 61 years, Maurita, children Greg Staton and wife Becky, Cindy Turner and husband Dan, sister Ann Newman and husband Jim and grandchildren Abby Dean and husband Joey, Sydney Staton, Cole Turner, Cate Turner, Dylan Snow and wife Candace and great grandchild Daxton Snow.
Pallbearers will be Cole Turner, Joey Dean, Caleb Emmert, Dylan Snow, Jason Hill, and David Burns.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, February 15 at Harvest Time Church in Fort Smith. The family will visit with family and friends from 10:00 AM until service time.
Burial will follow at Oak Cemetery in Fort Smith under direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
