George Stonebreaker, 66, of Fort Smith, died Tuesday, November 19, 2013, after a brief illness. He was the “Most interesting man in the world.” He lived an exciting and busy life. He wrote and had recorded songs, he flew airplanes, built steam engines and studied and observed the stars. He collected Egyptian artifacts and loved the ocean. He retired from Wortz/Bremner Bakery and leaves a lot of friends from work.
He was loved deeply by his wife’s family who knew they could count on him for anything. He and his wife grew up in San Diego, CA where they met when she was 15, they were never apart a day since then. While dying he promised his wife the house he builds in heaven won’t be another fixer-upper.
“The most interesting and loved man” leaves behind his broken hearted family, wife Vee, daughters Mariann Jiles and Melissa Stonebreaker, son Jerimiah, granddaughter Mariah Jiles, best friend and brother-in-law Chuck Nunn and nephews Jeremy Rhodes and Matthew Nunn.
The family will have a private service at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
The family asks to please wait to visit due to their bereavement. They also request no food or flowers. They wish instead that you take five minutes to look at and to be thankful for one more day with your loved ones.
