

Georgia Sims Jennings, 81, of Greenwood, passed from this life March 29, 2018 in Fort Smith. She was born May 18, 1936, as one of ten children to the late George Washington and Dena Coots Sims in Ada, Oklahoma. Georgia was a star basketball player and graduated as the Salutatorian from Stonewall High School. She loved telling jokes, even if they weren’t meant for all ears, spending time at Lake Ouachita water skiing in her younger years and loved to bowl on local leagues and traveled to many national tournaments to play. Georgia retired from work in data processing several years ago for Sparks Regional Medical Center.
Georgia is survived by four sons, Dave Jennings and his wife Sharon, Matt Jennings, George Jennings and Marvin Jennings; five brothers and sisters, Preston Sims and his wife Jean, Margaret Green, Peggy Harber, Lewis Sims and his wife Doris and Mildred Keplar; three grandchildren, Trevor, Dillon and Miranda Jennings, as well as two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Lois Hellman, Evelyn Timmons and Ruth Sexton, and one brother, T.W. Sims.

Private services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
