Jack Barnett, 95, of Fort Smith, passed from this life April 26, 2018 in Fort Smith. He was born August 5, 1922, in Lott, Texas, to S.J. and Patsy Currd Barnett. Jack was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard and American Merchant Marines. He was active in Woodsman of the World, the VFW and the American Legion. Jack was a member of First Baptist Church in Barling.
He is survived by his daughter, Tommie Jo Barnett of Fort Smith; three grandsons, Robert Sebren and his wife Pam of Fort Smith, Cavin Sebren of Greenwood and Mikey Barnett; seven great grandchildren, Georgia Michelle Sebren, Charlotte Danielle Sebren, Brittney Blondell Sebren, Breinna Jacklyn Sebren, Ashley Rene Sebren, Jamie Todd Sebren and Jacob Lane Sebren; and one great great granddaughter, Aven Jo Sebren. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Blondell Barnett; his son, Jackie Benjamin Barnett, as well as his parents.
A graveside service will be at 1:00pm Monday, April 30, 2018 at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith with Military Honors. The family will greet friends from 1:00 to 3:00pm Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Edwards Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
