Jack Dean Martin

Jack Dean Martin, 58 of Ft. Smith, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017. He was born November 25, 1958 in Albuquerque, NM to Jack and Louise Martin. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and worked in the Sanitation Department at Planters. He was preceded in death by his father.

Graveside committal service with military honors will be 1:00 PM Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 PM Friday, May 12, 2017 at Ben Geren Park Pavilion.

Jack is survived by his daughter; Nicole Martin of Ft. Smith, his son Steven Swenson of Ft. Smith, his mother Louise Hamilton of Phoenix, AZ, two sisters; Vicki Postell of Sallisaw, OK and Mary Wheeler of Pheonix, AZ, his brother; Karl Hamilton of Torrence, CA, his grandson Grayson Thomas; his fiancé’ Helen Hunter of Ft. Smith and his former wife of 30 years and mother of his children Karen Martin-Baugh, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Littlejohn, Karl Hamilton, Dwayne Gordon, and Gary Gordon.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Fentress Mortuary.
