
James Allen “Jimmy” Dew, 99, of Fort Smith died November 26, 2010 in Fort Smith. He was the original owner/operator of Jim & Alice’s Restaurant. He was a member of the American Legion, UCT, he was of the Christian Faith and is a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by a special nephew Jack Lane and wife Nerva of Tulsa, OK; nephew, French Smith and wife Kay of Mountainburg; niece, Elaine Winkler and husband Jerry of Las Vegas, NV; stepsons, Larry and wife Patricia Mars, Gary and wife Rosa Mars, Bill and wife Hilda Mars, Kevin and wife Brenda Mars all of Fort Smith, Mike Mars of Mahomet, IL; step daughter, Lisa Godbey of Mahomet, IL; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents James Julius and Katie Griffin Dew; first wife Alice Bell Dew, second wife, Mildred Mars Dew, stepson, Allen Cliff Mars; two sisters, Leopra Dew Rosser and Jewell Dew Smith.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the U.S. National Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Larry “Bub” Mars, Ricky D. Mars, Scott D. Mars, and Justin Mars, Jeff Brooks, James Brooks, II, David Randolph and Lance Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be his many friends at Central Mall
The family will greet friends on Monday evening from 5-7 PM.
