Dr. James C. " J.C." Vaughn

Dr. James C. “J.C.” Vaughn, 87, of Fort Smith, AR, passed away Friday, June 11, 2010. He was born March 5, 1923 in Muldrow, OK to Leslie Franklin Vaughn and Elsie Emily Vaughn. He was a Pharmacist for 50 years and retired owner of Vaughn Prescription Drug Store. He was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church, Belle Point Masonic Lodge #20 F&AM and Western Arkansas Scottish Rite Bodies. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife Claudia Vaughn and a sister Alma Lee Stewart.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 15, 2009, at Spradling Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Williamson and Rev. Mike Stark officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery with Military Honors under the direction of Edwards Funeral.

He is survived by one daughter Jama Kaye Watkins and husband Gary of Fort Smith, AR, one grandson Phillip Watkins and wife Cassie of Bentonville, AR, one great grandson Peyton Watkins of Bentonville, AR, two nieces and one nephew.

Pallbearers will be Dr. T. W. Brown, Dr. Ken Seiter, Jimmie Taylor, Earl McAfee, Dickie Weaver, Justin Sheperd, David Sheperd and Jan Colvett.

The family will visit with friends Monday evening, June 14, 2010, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
