Janet Kay Henning

Janet Kay Henning, age 74, passed peacefully from this life March 2, 2021. She was born October 23, 1946, in Pierre, South Dakota to Paul and Gladys Nelson McLaughlin. Janet was a graduate of Central Lyon High School in Rock Rapids, Iowa. She continued her education at Wayne State College where she graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. After graduation she worked in country schools, with 8th grade being the highest level.

Janet is survived by her husband of 54 years, Barry Lynn Henning; her daughter Lezlie Henning Williams and her husband Greg of Fort Smith, and their children Tyler, Tanner and Madalyn Williams; a son, Michael Todd Henning and his wife Kelli of Greenwood, and their children, Chandler and Landon Henning; a son Jamie Lynn Henning and his wife Shanna of Tulsa, and their daughter Olivia Grace Henning; her brother Bob McLaughlin and his wife Susan, and their children Kristal Walker and Temple Jay McLaughlin. Janet also leaves behind one great niece and four great nephews, as well as three great great nieces and two great great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a nephew Jacob Yates Stanford.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, Virginia 22116-7023.
