Jannie Marie McCreary departed this life on January 6, 2022 at Mercy Hospital surrounded by loved ones. Jannie was born on January 1, 1941 in Omaha Nebraska to the late Peggy Hollingsworth and Eugene Bush, Sr. She confessed her faith in Christ at an early age and lived a life dedicated to her faith. She was a member of Christ the King church. Jannie was very active in her church community and embraced every opportunity to study and enlightened her understanding of God’s Word. She was an Olate at St. Scholastica Monastery. She is a graduate of Omaha Technical High School. She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Ross Willis McGee in 1957. Their union was blessed with the birth of their beautiful daughter, Rynette Lee McGee in 1958. Jannie’s life purpose was summarized in her service to others. She enjoyed taking care of others and pursued it as her life’s purpose. She became a Certified Nursing Assistant and dedicated her time and efforts in caring for her family, friends and strangers alike. Not only was Jannie known for her kindness and generosity; but she was an avid baker whose pies where legendary. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and most of all spending time with her most precious gift, her beloved daughter Rynette. She dedicated herself to her family in ways that are too numerous to count. Her love and kindness will forever be engraved on the hearts of those she touched. She leaves to cherish her memory her beautiful daughter Rynette Lee McGee; four brothers, Ricardo (Hattie) Hollingsworth, DeForest (Flossie) Hollingsworth, Kenneth Bush, and Earl Bush; four sisters, Carolyn (Jimmy) Hollingsworth Harvey, Anna Rose Hollingsworth, Sherry Corley, and Joanne Walker. She was preceded in death by her brother Eugene Bush, Jr. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jannie was a loving wife, mother, sister, friend and neighbor. We will forever cherish her memory and look forward to the day that we meet again in our Father’s Kingdom. “Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise”
