Jean West Cooper

She was born January 17, 1931 in Asher, OK to the late Clifton W. West and

Louella Adams West. After graduating from Oklahoma University with a BA in

Journalism she worked at the Daily Oklahoman newspaper in Oklahoma City. She

was married to Bill G. Cooper for 44 years until his death in 1994. Together they founded

Basin Bit Company and J B Drilling Company of Fort Smith.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 18th at Fentress

Mortuary Chapel. Interment will be at 3:30 P.M. Saturday, February 18th at the

Vista Cemetery in Asher, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress

Mortuary of Fort Smith.

She is survived by two daughters: Laura Cooper of Fort Smith, and Ella Cooper

of West Palm Beach, FL; her son Bill R. Cooper and his wife Elizabeth Ann of

Muldrow, OK; one sister Vinita Westmoreland of Roswell, GA and two grandchildren

Courtney Anne Cooper of Shreveport, LA and William Cooper of Fort Smith.

home.
