

On August 2, 2026, Jim Edwards began his eternal journey, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and dedication that will be cherished by all who knew him. Deeply admired by family, friends, and his community, Jim's presence and influence will be profoundly missed.
Jim will be remembered as a devoted husband whose love and care for his family were unwavering. As a father, he inspired his children through his example of hard work, determination, and the pursuit of excellence. As a grandfather, he generously shared his wisdom, guidance, and sense of humor, creating lasting memories that will be treasured for generations.
A dedicated member of his community, Jim volunteered at Mercy Hospital Fort Smith, demonstrating his commitment to serving others. He was a graduate of Fort Smith High School, now known as Northside High School, and continued his education at Fort Smith Westark, now the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith (UAFS).
Jim also served his country with honor in the U.S. Air Force National Guard and was called to active duty during his military service. His patriotism and dedication to duty reflected the strong values he carried throughout his life.
An enthusiastic sports fan, Jim spent countless hours supporting and encouraging his children in their athletic pursuits. Known for his quick wit and memorable humor, his wisecracking remarks brought laughter and joy to those around him.
Jim's kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering devotion to his family and community will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who loved him.
He leaves behind his wife of nearly 67 years, Mary Edwards. Also his son, Jim Edwards III (Beth) of Edmond Oklahoma, daughter Lisa Larker (John) of Fort Smith and 2 grandchildren, Jacob and Jenna Edwards, both of Edmond Oklahoma. Preceding him in death were his father Jim Edwards Sr., mother Wilma Aline Edwards, and sister Patricia Ann Hale.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 5 - 6 PM at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Rosary will begin at 6 PM.
Funeral Mass will be 11:30 AM Thursday at Christ The King Catholic Church.
