Jimmy Stanfill, 87, of Fort Smith, passed away Monday, September 23, 2013, in Fort Smith. He was born May 2, 1926 in Fort Smith to the late Ezra Otho Stanfill, Sr. and Ethel Emely Parker Stanfill. He was a retired Trucking Contractor for Arkhola Sand and Gravel and a member of Rye Hill Baptist Church. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Kenneth Stanfill. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Friday, September 27, 2013, at Rye Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Franklin officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Juanita Yocum Stanfill, daughters Sherri Peerson of San Luis Obispo, CA, Judy Cobbs and husband Larry of San Luis Obispo, CA and Sue Harris and husband Mel of Fort Smith, brother Delbert Stanfill and wife Mackie of Troy, OH, grandchildren Jeremy Cobbs, Rebecca Soriano, Christianna Peters, Chuck Peerson, Brent Harris and Trace Harris and great grandchildren Aidan Cobbs, Charlene Cobbs, Christian Alcorn, Austin Peters, Hope Peters, Brooke Harris and Bailee Harris. Pallbearers will be members of the Senior Men’s Sunday School Class. The family will visit with friends Thursday, September 26, 2013, at Edwards Funeral Home from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM.
