Born on March 1, 1930, in Belleville, Arkansas, she was the only child of the late Noble Leonard Taylor and Bernice Sugg Taylor.
JoAnn was married to Raymond Eugene “Gene” Goins on September 12, 1948. They were blessed with over sixty-three years together until his passing on February 12, 2012.
Gene and JoAnn founded Goins Statewide Furniture in 1974. They ran the business together for many years. Known affectionately as “Mammaw,” her greatest joy came from being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, and supported several charities benefitting children. Those closest to her will remember her deep faith in the Lord, her generous spirit, and the joy she felt being around her loved ones.
JoAnn is survived by her children: sons Randall W. Goins (wife Janie) and Rick Goins (wife Dana), daughter Ruth Goins Brewer, all of Fort Smith, and daughter-in-law Catherine McCann Goins of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Aimee Goins Miskov (husband Jon), of St. Louis, Missouri, Trent Goins (wife Megan), of Fort Smith, Robert Goins of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Ryan Goins (wife Andrea), of Fort Worth, Texas, Leigh Allison Stidham (husband Tim), of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Taylor Park Goins (fiancé Beau) of Castle Rock, Colorado, Emily Goins Kaufman (husband Kylan), of Kansas City, Missouri, and Hugh Brewer (wife Liz), of Fayetteville, Arkansas; as well as five great-grandchildren: Harper Jane Miskov, Emery and Anna Stidham, James Goins and Harrison Kaufman.
