Joe David Taylor, 89 of Charleston, AR, formerly of Fort Smith, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025. He was born on November 26, 1935 in Fort Smith to the late Hershel Taylor and Leona Roppolo Taylor. Joe was retired from McKesson Drug Corporation, where he worked as a retail account manager. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Fort Smith. Joe served his country in the Arkansas Air National Guard. He was a member of the U.C.T. Club. Joe was an avid Razorback fan and a devoted husband and father. In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Taylor.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth Taylor of Fort Smith; Cousins Sally Hicks, Judy Bivens and Lisa Standridge. Sister-in-laws, Gloria Standifird and husband Ed and Susan Miller; Brother-in-law Dick Winters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary service will be 10:30 am Friday, February 14, 2025 at Christ the King Catholic Church, with the Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 am. Public viewing will be from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm Thursday at Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith. Inurnment of ashes will be at the columbarium of Subiaco Abbey in Subiaco, AR.
