John D. Smith

John D. Smith, 91 of Greenwood passed away December 22, 2013. He was born January 22, 1920 in Van Buren to the late David and Pearl Smith. He was a member and Deacon of First Assembly of God Church in Van Buren. He worked at Harding Glass for 33 years. He loved buying and working on cars. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years Algie Nell Smith and one son Larry Smith.

Private family services will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.

Mr. Smith is survived by his daughter Betty Williams of Greenwood, two sons; John Smith of Van Buren and Louis Smith of Central City, his sister Nanny Odom of Van Buren; six grandchildren: Jonella Graham, Tammy Conrow, Amy Goff, Lynetta Penson, Tina Biggs, and Penney Coleman, as well as 15 Great Grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent the charity of one’s choice.
