John "Jack" Stamm

John J. “Jack” Stamm, 83, of Fort Smith, died April 18, 2010 in Fort Smith. He was born May 26, 1926 in Brooklyn New York to John J. and Harriette J. Bradley Stamm. He was a retired Chemical Engineer for General Electric and Hughes Electric and he served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Carl Smith Sunday School Class and the Baptist Men’s Ministry.

He is survived by his wife Jo of the Home; one daughter Stephanie and her husband Jeffrey Gibbs of Dallas, TX; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Susan Hurd.

Funeral service will be Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the First Baptist Church with burial to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Carl Smith Sunday School Class.

The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 4 – 6 PM.
