

Josephine Rose Harris, 92, of Fort Smith died February 22, 2014 in Fort Smith. She was born March 9, 1921 in Atkins, Arkansas to the late Valentine and Elizabeth Gunderman. She was a graduate of St. Edwards School of Nursing as a registered nurse. She volunteered with hospice and with RSVP and was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. Josephine spent her life as homemaker, caring for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Liz Schluterman and her husband Allen of Fort Smith; three sons, Jim Harris and his wife Carole of Fort Smith, Dr. Ray Harris and his wife Karen of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Mickey Harris and his wife Lee of Fort Smith; six grandchildren, Carie Buratowski, Michael Harris, Karen Evans, Dr. Chris Schluterman, Melissa Foster and Nic Schluterman, as well as nine great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Clarence Harris. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Wednesday, February 26 at St. Boniface Catholic Church with burial following at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be at 6:00pm Tuesday, February 25 at Edwards Funeral Home. Rosary will follow the visitation at 7:00pm. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Michael Harris, Chris Schluterman, Nic Schluterman, Will Foster, Matthew Glass and Allen Schluterman. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe, William and Francis Ehemann.
