Kathleen Dickey

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Ada and Clyde Redden; and the love of her life, Donald Odell Dickey.

She is survived by her son, Dean Odell Dickey and wife Brenda, her daughter, Paige Ingram and husband Jim, and daughter Kiann Robinson. She was Gran to 8 grandchildren, Jeb Stuart Dickey (Klaire), MacLeod Odell Dickey (Chrystal), Gavin Lee Dickey (Alyssa), Zach Ingram (Hannah), Brecken Hetzel (Peter), Jake Ingram, Logan Snyder (Mataio), Jett Tolliver (Lexy). And 12 great grandchildren; Billy Wayne and Josephine Dickey, Eloise and Clyde Odell Dickey, Eli James, Samuel Odell, Stella Paige, Luke Edward, and Thomas Walker Ingram, Adelaide Jane and Clara Paige Hetzel and Jaxton Koa Snyder. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were a blessing and source of enjoyment in her life!

Kathy grew up in Roland, Oklahoma and graduated from Roland High School in 1959. She attended Oklahoma State University where she met and married Donald Odell Dickey on October 28, 1960 at First United Methodist Church in Roebuck Chapel. Kathy and Don were happily married for 60 years before Don’s passing in 2020.

Kathy was a homemaker, raising her three children, then working as a bookkeeper in Don’s business. Later she worked in banking at River Valley Bank and Simmons Bank.

Kathy grew up as an only child after losing her father in WWII. She had 8 uncles and aunts that became more like brothers and sisters to her. Family was very important to her, enjoying Sunday dinners at Momma Brook’s house after church and attending family reunions. Kathy had a knack for remembering every birthday, anniversary, and important date in her family and friend’s lives, never failing to send a card or make a call. She was always very gracious wanting to make sure everyone had what they needed. Kathy was known for her fantastic pies, scrumptious beans and cornbread, and her yummy banana bread. We know from heaven Kathy will be saying, “y’all come see us!”

Funeral service will be held 10:00 Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, 201 North 12th, Fort Smith, AR 72901. Burial will be in Roland City Cemetery.

We would like to give sincere gratitude and praise to her wonderful caregivers and the staff at Methodist Village for loving and faithfully caring for our mother.
