Kenneth Woodward Hulsey, 76 of Fort Smith, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at his home after a short cancer diagnosis. He was born on January 1, 1948 in Fort Smith to the late Kenneth and Rita Woodward Hulsey. Kenny, as he was known to his family and friends, was retired from Hiram Walker. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and recipient of the Bronze Star. Kenny was a member of the American Legion, Post 31 and was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church in Fort Smith. In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his Aunt Mary K Henson, his maternal grandmother, Ada Stewart, a cousin, Woody Henson, his mother-in-law Betty Nichols and his wife’s grandmother, Grannie Cook.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cindy of the home, his son, Steven Hulsey, a daughter, Danielle Shaw (Kyle), a sister-in-law Barbie Moses (Tommy), three brothers-in-law, Michael Nichols (Keli), Greg Nichols (Kathy), and Ronald Nichols (Genie). Six grandchildren, Rita Abbigail Hulsey, Sidda Lea Hulsey, AnnaClaire Shaw, Holden Shaw, Bradney Shaw and a bonus granddaughter Journey Weaver. He had one great grandson, Brooks Reynolds. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins with a special cousin, Jane Rappeport (Mike).
Kenny loved his family and friends. He enjoyed music, fishing, playing cards with his buddies and had a special bond with the ocean. He will be missed by so many.
