Kenneth Lane Perry (Ken) died October 27, 2020 at the age of 83. He was born August 14, 1937 in Paris, Arkansas to Leonard Lafayette Perry, Sr. and Ruth Rambo Perry. He graduated from Lavaca High School and joined the United States Army where he served in Korea. From 1967 – 2002, Ken was the owner and operator of Ken’s Exxon in Fort Smith and Ken’s Car Care in Barling. Ken was passionate about cars, collecting them, restoring them, and building them from scratch and loved building and flying Ultralight Aircraft. Ken’s parents preceded him in death, as did two brothers, Edwin and Leonard “Curly” Perry and three sisters, Wanda Perry, Betty Reyer, and Peggy Patterson. Ken is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jackie of Barling; his children Terri Hooper (Jim) of Upland, California; Kenna Karmel of Fort Smith; Dr. Blake Perry of Little Rock; and two grandsons, Zackary Karmel of Corinth, Texas and John Tyler Karmel of Fort Smith; two brothers, David Perry and James "Jim" Perry, both of Fort Smith.
A graveside service is scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 2, 2020 at Liberty Cemetery Pavilion in Greenwood, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary in Fort Smith.
