Kenneth James Roberds, 63, of Fort Smith, died March 22, 2011 in Fort Smith. He was born May 14, 1947 to Russell Roberds and Velma Lillie Mae Jones Roberds Hicks. He was an employee of Hot Shot Courier Service but he had served as an employee for the City of Fort Smith, Fort Smith Regional Airport, and Bost Human Development. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and was an avid fisherman, hunter, and was a Classic Car Enthusiast.
He was also an active member of the NRA and the Eagles.
He is survived by two daughters, Melanie and husband Chuck Ballard of Greenwood and Stephanie and husband Jay Haynes of Little Rock; one step daughter, Laina Jennings of Fort Smith; six grandchildren, his ex-wife Donna Roberds of the home; and lots of close friends that he considered “Family”. He was preceded in death by his parents Russell Roberds and Velma Roberds Hicks and step father Luther Hicks.
Funeral service will be Monday, March 28, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home
Pallbearers will be Jim Cassidy, Chuck Ballard, Gary McKinney, Mitchell Minor, Lonnie Hurt, and Eric Watkins.
The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home Sunday from 2-4 PM.
