Kevin Patrick Haars

Kevin was born on May 3, 1952, in Belle Plaine, Iowa, to Richard Haars and Virginia “Ginny” Haars. He married Janet Sue Haars on June 7, 1979, and together they built a life and family that he deeply cherished.

Kevin served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era, working in radio repair and communications. Following his military service, he continued his career in electronics, working for BEI Defense Company. He later worked in security for Securitas.

Kevin was a member of Central Christian Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

In his free time, he enjoyed computer games, science fiction and fantasy novels, knife collecting, and watching The Great British Baking Show. These interests brought him many hours of enjoyment and reflected the things that made him uniquely Kevin.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Richard Haars; his sister, Debra Denham; his brother-in-law, Garrett “Gene” Denham; and his niece, Virginia “Ginger” Denham.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Janet Haars; his mother, Virginia “Ginny” Haars; his daughter, Kara Pittman; his son, Andrew Haars; and his grandchildren, Leigha Howard, Dakotah Pittman, Chase Pittman, Patrick Haars, and Austin Haars. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and loved ones.

Kevin’s memory will live on through the family who loved him, the life he built, and the many memories shared with those who knew him.
