Board for the Harry G. Barr Company – WeatherBarr and attended Bethel Lutheran Church,
where he served as President of the Congregation, was a member of Bethel’s Lay Leadership
Council, and sat on the Board of Elders. Larry attended First Lutheran School, graduating from
Fort Smith Senior High School and Valparaiso University – Valparaiso, IN. He was a Major in the
Intelligence Branch of the 188th TFG, retiring after 20 years of service. He was also a past
member of the Fort Smith Manufacturing Executive Association and the Fort Smith Jaycees. He
was an avid boater, spending many weekends with his wife on their sailboat.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry G. and Irene Barr; and his brothers Tom and
Dick Barr.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; three stepdaughters, Jennifer McMillan (James Cutshall),
Megan Smith, and Mallory St. Clair (Joe); his sister, Dr. Marilyn Barr of Fort Smith; and seven
grandchildren, Elijah McMillan-Murphy, Evan Cutshall, Rory Cutshall, Quinn Smith, Elaina
Smith, Tres St. Clair, and Elliot St. Clair. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Martha
Leaf (Tim), Mark Barr (Lynne), Scott Barr (Cindy), Michael Barr (Greta), Brian Barr (Megan),
Hayden Barr (Danelle), Douglas Barr (Rachel), Courtney Beard (Ian), and twenty great-nieces
and great-nephews.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021, at First Lutheran Church, with
burial at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Mark, Scott, Michael, Brian, and Douglas Barr, and Tyson Stanko.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, September 17, 2021, at Edwards Funeral Home.
