

Larry Douglas Mars, 68, of Fort Smith, passed away March 10, 2022, in Fort Smith. He was born on July 16, 1953 in Paris, Arkansas to Carl Edward Mars and Mildred Bradley Mars Dew. Larry was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the National Guard for nine years. He was a proud member of the VVA #467, VFW #8245 and the Patriot Guard. He volunteered for multiple community organizations. Larry enjoyed hunting, camping, going to garage sales and taking road trips with no destination. He loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Rita Mars; two brothers, Mike and Cliff Mars; one brother in law, Dave Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Mars of the home; three sons, Larry Edward “Bub” Mars of Greenwood, Ricky Mars (Lindsay) of Greenwood and Scott Mars (Amber) of Greenwood; four grandchildren, Hannah, Ryleigh, Max and Kason; one sister, Lisa Godbey (Robert) of Fort Smith; three brothers, Gary Mars (Rosa) of Fort Smith, Bill Mars (Hilda) of Fort Smith and Kevin Mars (Brenda) of Fort Smith; three brothers in law, John Smith, Ray Smith (Liz), and Bobby Smith all of Fort Smith; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral service will be 1 PM, Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Edwards Funeral Home with burial to follow at Fort Smith National Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be 5 PM till 7 PM, Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Edwards Funeral Home.
