Laura Elizabeth Bonner Barger, 88, of Fort Smith was born to Bea F. Bonner and Scottie King Bonner on March 29, 1932 in Vesta, AR. She graduated from Charleston High School in 1949. Laura retired from Hiram-Walker after 15 years of employment and continued to attend their VMA Celebration. Laura was of the Methodist Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Bonner Stanton and infant brother.
Survivors include a brother, Dr. Carl Edward Bonner and a sister Louise Bonner Smith (Wayne) along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside service will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Nixon Cemetery in Charleston, AR. Viewing will be 12 PM till 4 PM Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Edwards Funeral Home.
Laura’s favorite pastime was Crossword Puzzles. As soon as she finished reading the Times Record she would start on the puzzle. She was also, a very good storyteller. Laura had a story for every situation. She enjoyed sports and her favorite two teams were the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Green Bay Packers.
