

While being born and raised in Moreland, Georgia, Lee also attended the Newnan, Georgia Public Schools including Fairmount and Central High School.
LeRogers, known as Lee, is one of seven children. Both parents, three brothers, Robert, Willie (Coot), and Larry (Caveman) preceded him in death.
In 1972, he joined the US Army Branch of Service. During his first tour of duty, he became a Combat Engineer. Later, he mastered in becoming a Culinary Arts Specialist. Lee loved to cook. He was labeled as a Connoisseur in cooking. He was truly an expert judge in Matters of the Taste. Homemade Rolls, Cinnamon Rolls, Red Velvet Cake and Pound Cakes were just a few of his signature desserts.
Lee gave his life to Christ at an early age and after relocating to Fort Smith became a dedicated member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church serving on the Finance Committee, Deacon Board and singing in the choir, even as his health began fail.
His other love was Family. Lee loved his family. While serving in the US Army, Lee met and fell in love with the love of his life, Vanessa. To this union, 2 sons were born. Lee was a dedicated father first and foremost, especially in sports. No one would attend any sport event and not know that Mr. Lee was in attendance. You heard him and then you saw him. He loved life and made everyone around laugh and have a good time. He treasured all of his children and embraced every moment with them.
During his brief battle with cancer, Lee maintained positive, uplifting, and faithful. He continued to express words of encouragement, wisdom, and sometimes comfort to others. He did not live as if there was no hope. As he reminded the healthcare professions, your job is to maintain my level of pain and the pain medications prescribed. You can’t tell me how many days I have left because you didn’t give me my days of life. Lee may have had cancer, but cancer did not have Lee.
Lee peacefully departed this life June 28, 2023. He will be solely missed. To continue his Legacy, Lee is survived by his wife of 42 years, Vanessa Dorsey.
Daughter - Shalondia “Tell” Morrow, Newnan, GA; Sons - Levertis “Rell” Kendall (Devin), Newnan, GA, LaDariest (Kourtney) and Keyshawn ( Aniya), Fort Smith, AR. 4 Grandchildren, Ta-Darius, Gerald, Keyani, and Kourion.
4 Great grandchildren, Sisters, Dorothy Davison and Martha Jean Herring; Brother, Gary Dorsey (Gladys). all of Newnan GA., and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation will be 5:00pm to 7:00pm Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Edwards Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be 11:00am Friday, July 7, 2023 at New Covenant International Christian Church, 4400 North N Street, Fort Smith, AR 72901. Interment will be at the Fort Smith National Cemetery.
