Lillie “Mamie” Grier, 90 of Fort Smith, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024. She was born on June 23, 1933 in Biloxi, MS to the late Albert A. and Rosie Blanchard. Mamie, as she was known to her family and friends, was a homemaker, an avid gardener and loved to share her knowledge and flowers to others. She was an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church where she sang in the church choir for over 40 years. She was a very supportive and loving mother and grandmother, her kids came first in her life. In addition to her parents, Mamie is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Kelleam Grier, II and a son, Andrew Kelleam Grier, III.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Burnett (Wesley) of Alma and Patricia Schlag (Kenny) of Fort Smith; two sons, Chuck Grier (Patti) of Perryville, AR and Dan Grier (Jeni) of Cape Girardeau, MO. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm Monday, April 1, 2024 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rosary Service to follow at 6pm.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Christ the King Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Wright, Eric Wright, Michael Grier, John Grier, Chris Grier and Ian Schlag.
