

Lois M. Lawler, 86, of Barling, AR, formerly of Eagle Rock, MO., passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023. She was born on July 19, 1937 in Lenor City, TN to the late William and Rose Brooks Helton. Lois owned and operated Lawler’s Bakery. She was a member of Rye Hill Baptist Church in Fort Smith and had previously attended the First Baptist Church in Cassville, MO. She was a member of the Cassville Senior Center in Cassville, MO where she was treasurer in both the old and new building for 7 years.
In addition to her parents, Lois is preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Lawler; a son, Harold L. Lawler; seven brothers, William “Henry” Helton, Paul A. Helton, Claude F. Helton, Roy E. Helton, Johnnie L. Helton, Thomas W. Helton and Carl N. Helton; four sisters, Grace L. Pratt, Mary “Katherin” Grubb, Dorothy L. Harms and Margaret R. Garber.
She is survived by three sons, Donald L. Lawler, Jr. (Ratha) of Eureka Springs, AR, Ronald L. Lawler (Debbie) of Fort Smith, AR and Lonnie L. Lawler (Julie) of Eagle Rock, MO, daughter in-law Bobbi J. Lawler Holiday Island, AR, along with six grandchildren Jennifer, Jason, Robert, Brittany, Miranda and Luis. And nine great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Edwards Funeral Home, 201 N. 12th St., Fort Smith, AR.
Graveside service will be 11:00 am Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Roach Cemetery in Eagle Rock, MO.
