Loretta "Retsy" Elizabeth Zimmer

Loretta (Retsy) Elizabeth (Konert) Zimmer, 90 of Fort Smith, Arkansas died Saturday, April 21, 2012 in Fort Smith. Loretta was born November 19, 1921 in Scranton, Arkansas to Joseph and Cecilia (Irber) Konert. In her early adult life she was employed by the Wortz Bisquit Company and later as a home keeper for various families. She loved the St. Louis Cardinals and fishing with her late husband Frank. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fort Smith.

Loretta is survived by one sister; Cecilia Wall of Milford, Ohio. Although Loretta had no children of her own, she was a considered a mother and grandmother by Mary Ann (Meyers) Wilson, Billy Joe Meyers, Kathy (Meyers) Furstenburg, Ginny Sue (Meyers) Marlin and all of their children.

Loretta is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Frank Zimmer, four sisters; Stella Worden, Bernadine Meyers, Lucille Fischer and Helen Wright, five brothers; Lawrence, A.M. “Doc”, Bill, Robert and Anthony Konert.

Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012 at Fentress Mortuary in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas with burial at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Paris, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary in Fort Smith.

The family would like to especially thank Peachtree Hospice (Maren, Phyllis and Kay) for their loving care and kindness.

Pallbearers will be Enoch Tufts, William Meyers, Bradley Meyers, Jason Logan, Matthew Marlin and Wes Havens.
