Mary Louise Schenk, 82, of Fort Smith passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 while surrounded by her children. She left the sufferings of this world behind to go home to her heavenly Father. She was faithful to the end. She was born on February 3, 1937 in Fort Smith to James and Flora Kelley, Sr. She was lovingly referred to as Monkey and was a fierce lover of life and of her family. Her grandkids were her greatest joys. She was the most selfless person. Always ended a conversation with “I love you more” and “Is there anything I can do for you?”
She married Kenneth Schenk on September 30, 1961, for 57 years 4 months and 21 days and loved him to the very end. She left us with so much love. We will forever have a missing puzzle piece. She is survived by two sons, Kenny Schenk and wife Suzette, Kelley Schenk and wife Shirley; one daughter, Emily Moody and husband Chris; one granddaughter, Heather Schenk; six grandsons, Jacob, Matthew, Nicholas and Jason Schenk, Gunnar and Zachary Moody; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be Monday, February 25, from 5:30p.m. to 6:30p.m. with a rosary to follow the visitation at 6:30p.m. both at Edwards Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 10a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers for her service.
