Louise M. Samples Woods

Louise M. Samples Woods, 89, of Van Buren passed from this life January 3, 2018, while surrounded by her family. She was born February 13, 1929, in rural Van Buren, to the late J.E. and Viva Osgood Samples. She attended the Church of God Seventh Day, where she was an active member. After retiring from Wal-Mart, she enjoyed traveling, having visited 49 states, Europe, the Holy Land and Canada. Strong and independent to the end, she will be remembered as being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Louise was the widow of Henry H. Woods.

Louise is survived by her children, Marcia Sanders and her husband Randy of Van Buren, Steve Woods and his wife Susan of Hartford and Sue Gold and her husband Elroy of The Woodlands, Texas; grandchildren, Matthew Sanders of Bentonville, Adam Sanders of Fort Smith, April Brann and her husband Justin of Conroe, Texas, Jeremy Woods and his wife Jennifer of Fort Smith, Haley Paul and her husband Zack of Spring, Texas and Elise Clemmons of The Woodlands, Texas; as well as her great grandchildren, Lennon, Trinity, Max and Parker Woods, Ava and Jonah Brann, and Henry and Grace Paul. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; husband; and one grandson, Joshua Woods.

Funeral services will be 10:00am Monday, January 7, 2018 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 3:00 to 5:00pm Sunday, January 6, 2018 at Edwards Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
