

Loy Louise Freeland, 84, of Fort Smith, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2012, in Fort Smith. She was born October 18, 1927 in Lavaca, AR to the late Jefferson and Corine (Shaver) Amos. She was retired from Plastics Research where she was over the Shipping Department. She was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church, VFW Post #2036 and the Arkansas Retired Military Association. She was the widow of Sgt. Guy T. Freeland who was killed while on duty in Vietnam and preceded in death by her brother Jerl Amos.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
She is survived by two sons Gary David Hays and wife Karen of Greenwood and Thomas Michael Freeland and wife Julie of Greenwood, four grandchildren Heather Maliah Hays, Gary David Hays, Joshua Hawk Hays and Happy Chantel Hays, three great-grandchildren Victor Thomas Warden, Lilliana Hays and Ocean Guinevere Hays and three great-great- grandchildren Ryan, Maliah and Brooklyn Warden.
Pallbearers will be Marty Westphall, Clay Garrison, Sonny White, James Branch, Jay Machand and Danny Stoner.
The family will visit with friends Tuesday evening at Edwards Funeral Home from 7:00 PM-8:00 PM.
