

Manford B. Redifer, August 10, 1925 - October 8, 2016; Child of the 1920’s, grew up and survived the Great Depression, served in the U.S. Army as an infantryman and DUKW driver during World War II in both the European and Pacific Theatres. Came home and married his childhood sweetheart, Marian Yanke…. had three sons, Manny Jr., Gary, and Bren.
Life…ups and downs… did the best he could do…. not perfect, but always tried to do his best.
Memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, October 14th at the U.S. National Cemetery Pavilion in Fort Smith with Full Military Honors as he retired from the U.S. Army as a Master Sergeant, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Checked out in his sleep at home, surrounded by his cherished dogs (and one cat), and by his family. Preceded in death by grandson, Charles Britton Redifer. Survived by two sisters, Lorraine O. Sherman and Jackie Duncan. Survived by his sons, daughters-in-law (Rhonda, Bonnie and Julie Redifer); grandsons, (Travis Redifer and Daniel Redifer with wife Patricia), Jason and Jacob Lockmiller and their wives, Danielle and Cheria, Aaron Cope and Jennifer Stout and their spouses; great grandchildren, Evelyn and Jackson Redifer, Lucy and Maggie Lockmiller, Eli and Madelyn Cope, and Simon and Elliot Stout.3
He had a wonderful relationship with his nieces and nephews, Mike and Kris Sherman, Laure Redifer, Eric Redifer, Christopher Redifer, Heather Ramsey, Andrea Hunt, Wendy Neal, plus all of their spouses and children.
The family extends special thanks to Mike and Sue Liberto, Vernon Kennedy and the folks at VFW Post 8845 for their friendship. One last thought, Manny always said when it was time to go….. to heck with it (paraphrased) ... and save two for pall bearers!
