Marge Chamblin

Marge Floyd Chamblin, 87, of Cave Springs, AR., formerly of Fort Smith, died December 23, 2011 in Bentonville surrounded by her family. She was born May 15, 1924 in Nashville, AR to Moses Allen and Laura “Pearl” Hughes Floyd. She was a member of Goddard United Methodist Church in Fort Smith.

She is survived by one daughter, Lynnda Wise of Cave Springs, AR; one son, Don W. “Buz” Chamblin, Jr. of Mountainburg, AR; two grandchildren, Anne Wise Gibbons and Trey Wise; and three great grandchildren, Haley, Sam, and Blake Gibbons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Don W. Chamblin; two daughters, Nancy and Susan Chamblin; her parents; and sister, Ada B. Howard.

Memorial graveside will be Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel. Services and cremation are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends at a reception held in the Parlor of Goddard United Methodist Church from Noon until 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the Children’s Ministry of Goddard United Methodist Church, or the Charity of your choice.

Lynda and Buzz, I am so sorry to hear of Marge's passing. I feel so Blessed to have known such of an awesome lady! I havent seen her in a long time but I have missed her every since she moved! I know Heaven just welcomed another Angel! I will always miss her! I will be praying for all of you.

Lynda and Buz: So sorry to hear about Marge's death. I am sorry I couldn't attend the serice for her. Steve and I have so many wonderful memories of spending time with Don and Marge and all the Chamblin uncles and aunts. That whole generation is greatly missed. Love to you both. Something I will never forget about your mom is the time Susan and I built a fish pond in the backyard of the house in Sebastian Hills. Any other mother would have said no, but your mom helped get us the tools and whatever else we needed. I loved being at her home! I am sorry for your loss. She was a great lady!
