

Marvin O. Silmon, 91, of Fort Smith, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016. He was born September 17, 1925 in Harrisburg, AR to the late Jess and Ora Mae Silmon. He was retired owner of Southern Electric. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the D.A.V. and a member of Sebastian Masonic Lodge #706 F&AM. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy L. Silmon; a son, Greg Silmon and his brother, Charles F. Silmon.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Friday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
He is survived by his son, Doug Silmon and wife Marie of Fort Smith; grandchildren, Rev. Shauna Silmon of Denver, CO, Marcia McDrummond of Fort Smith, Tela Silmon of Fort Smith and Dr. Shannon Turner and husband Derek of Little Rock; great grandchildren, Maddison Rodery of Philadelphia, PA, Makenna Rodery of Claremore, OK, Caroline Turner of Little Rock and Nicholas Turner of Little Rock.
The family will visit with friends Thursday evening from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 301 North 6th Street, Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
