Mary Alice Tarkington, 80, of Pocola, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023. She was born on January 24, 1943 in Cedars, OK to the late Walcy Jr. and Thelma Montgomery Clark. Mary was retired from the Okmulgee School System, where she was a teacher’s assistant in the middle school. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Tarkington and a brother, Barry Clark.
Memorial Graveside Service will be 11:00 am Friday, May 19, 2023 at Leard Cemetery in Pocola, with the Elder Donald L. Cummings officiating. Visitation will be held graveside prior to the service, Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her sister, Onie Massey of Pocola and a brother, Arwesley Pledger of Fort Smith, along with many friends and loved ones, including many nieces and nephews.
