We lived across the street from you on Chaffee drive. I remember your Mother. She was always kind to me and my sister, Linda. We went to Sunnymede 1-6  grade but I really don’t remember her in the office.  Very sorry to hear she passed but what a long life she had. Prayers for her and your family.

I have so much love and admiration for Mrs.York.  Regardless of what she was doing, she always had time to stop, listen or help.  She had boundless patience and love.  I will always be grateful for her encouragement to me.  She was truly the heart of Sunnymede School.

When our family first joined CCC, Mary Jane was one of the first people we met. What an awesome person she was!  She always had a huge smile for everyone and was one of the kindest people I knew.

Mary Jane was such a wonderful lady! Each time I visited her in her home she had her Bible opened on her dining room table because she had been reading/studying it beforehand.  I can absolutely see her in the role that the others describe of her as secretary at Sunnymede.  I was privileged to have a prayer with her the very last time I saw her.  Earth’s loss is Heaven’s gain!

Lovely memories of Mrs. York from Sunnymede 1962-1968.  I will always remember her as a true Lady.  Thank you Mrs. York for all you did for all of us at Sunnymede. 

Mrs. York was the glue that held Sunnymede together. She was the one constant during my six years.  I also worked in the school store and to this day, I turn the faces of all bills in the same direction because that’s what she taught me to do. I can still hear her voice and still say to myself, “There’s Mrs. York’s house“ when I drive down Park Ave. What a joyous reunion the Sunnymede teachers in heaven are having with her arrival. 

Mrs York was the first beautiful face you saw when you entered the Sunnymede school office. I got to help in the little school store, selling supplies, pencils, erasers, etc, and since I was totally inept at math, she often had to help me with the money exchange. She was always kind, patient, and never judgemental.  I ran into her at JC Penney a couple of years ago and she still remembered me. What a lovely lady!

Mrs. York was the best elementary school secretary ever! From normal office duties to selling big chief tablets & Cadillac pencils, to putting green soap on boo-boos. She allowed me to use her office phone to call home many times. And as a sixth grader I got to help her count the lunch money change. I thought she was the most beautiful woman in the whole school. Always faithful and such a lady. I am sure the Lord said well done my good and faithful servant. The world could use more  women like her.

Mrs. York was the life blood of Sunnymede Elementary during my time there. I can only remember one day when she didn't come to work. We thought the Earth would stop turning. She was loved by so many, respected by all, and will be remembered for many years to come. Today, I celebrate the life of this truly amazing individual.
