

Mattalee Fawcett of Fort Smith, passed away April 16, 2014 in Phoenix, AZ. She was born March 21, 1929 in Paris, AR to the late Bess and Henry Taylor. Mattalee graduated High School in Fort Smith and attended the University of Arkansas. She was an avid sports fan and she and C.A. were one of the original Road Hogs following the Razorbacks to all of the football games with a caravan of R.V.’s. Mattalee and C.A. helped start the U of A Fort Smith Booster Club and she loved to watch their volleyball and basketball games. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband C.A. “Chuck” Fawcett. She is survived by her two children, Janith and husband Cleve Branson, and Chuck and his wife, Shannon Fawcett; one sister, Nelda Deen Womack; seven grandchildren, Taylor and Chad White, Naaron and Dave DeGreeff, Kindsey and Cory McElvain, Nikki and Tim Knoebel, Hank Fawcett, Rachel and James Russell, Aimee and Brian Edens; and fourteen great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 28, 2014, at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith. Services and cremation are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
