Mattie Sarah Trevino, 79, of Fort Smith, Arkansas went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 26, 2013. She was born March 15, 1934 in Natchez, Mississippi, the daughter of Alonzo Tucker Williams, Sr. and Minnie Lee Judge Williams. Sarah’s paternal grandparents were the late Daniel Cicero Williams and Martha “Mattie” C. McCary of Laurel, Mississippi and her maternal grandparents were the late Thomas Madison Judge and Sarah Ann Walker of Newton, Mississippi.
She is survived by two sons, Charles L. Booker, Jr. and wife Claudette Marie DeRocher Booker of Fort Smith and Andrew Forrest Booker and wife Carol Booker of Eagle River, Alaska; one brother, Harry Williams of Harrisburg, PA; three grandchildren, Major Erik Booker, U.S. Army of Fort Jackson, SC; Dr. Adam Booker, Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Minnesota Duluth; and Dr. Colleen Booker Halverson, English instructor at the University of Wisconsin at Richland Center, WI; her precious great grandchildren, Alex, Brennan, Colton, Devin, Ronald, Skye, Cassidy, and Colin; and her two great-great grandchildren, Khristin and Rylee. She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse A. Trevino and two brothers James T. Williams and Alonzo T. Williams, Jr.
Graveside service will be Monday, April 1, 2012 at 10:45 AM in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery under the direction of Sunset Funeral Home in San Antonio, Texas. Local arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Music Department at the University of Arkansas of Fort Smith.
