Mickey D. Wheeler

Mickey Dewayne Wheeler, 52, of Fort Smith, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 in Fort Smith. He was born March 3, 1959 in Duncan, OK to Herman L. and Melba J. Johnson Wheeler. He worked for Herman’s Carpet Service for the majority of his life as a supervisor and installer. Mickey enjoyed playing music, building guitars, woodwork, motorcycles, and building cars. He played in several bands as a young man.

He is survived by one daughter, Morgan E. Hanna and husband Eric of Elmira, N.Y.; his father, Herman Wheeler of Fort Smith; two sisters, Owalah Bobbitt of Tulsa, OK and Trefana Christian of Fort Smith; one brother, Kenny Wheeler of Greenwood; his best friend and the love of his life Kimberly Wheeler of Fort Smith and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Melba Wheeler on April 19, 2011. Mickey never met a person he did not like and made friends everywhere he went. He was loved by all.

Memorial Service will be Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 3:00 PM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Services and Cremation are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
