

Nan Bartlett, 81, of Fort Smith, died October 20, 2017 in Fort Smith. She was born April 26, 1936 in Altus, AR to Samuel Fain and Mary Evelyn Buck Davis. Nan was a nurse for Dr. Joe Mason, Dr. John Ben Stewart and Dr. Ralph Kramer, she served as Fort Smith City Director Ward 2, Chairman at Large 1st Class and member of Cities of Arkansas Municipal League, Secretary of the Sebastian County Solid Waste Board, River Front Development Committee, Democratic Women, Past Board member of the Fountain of Youth, the Mayor’s Crime Commission, and the Arkansas Municipal League Executive Board, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Paul and wife Nanci Hinds Bartlett of Springdale, AR and Jimmy Bartlett of Van Buren, AR; one sister, Mary Alice Gazzola of Gainesville, VA; niece, Mary Ann Beard of Gainesville, VA; one brother, John W. Davis of Kansas; four grandchildren, Ivie Belle Bartlett, Dr. Lindsay Mae Chandler, Kady Bartlett, and Christi Woodward. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Dane Bartlett.
Funeral service will be Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Oak Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
