Nancy K Edwards

August 3, 1924June 7, 2018

Nancy Kate Edwards, 93, of Fort Smith, passed from this life June 7, 2018 in Fort Smith. She was born August 3, 1924, in Charleston, to the late Walter Snell and Beulah Pettigrew-Kersh. Nancy worked in the engineering department at Southwestern Bell Telephone for 42 years and was active with the Telephone Pioneers. She was also on the Women’s Board at Methodist Nursing Home. Nancy had been a member of Southside Baptist Church since 1953, and was a member of the Lydia Sunday School class. She is survived by her daughter Shannon Shaw and her husband Bruce of Billings, Montana, and her grandson, Jamie Pike of Van Buren. She was preceded in death by her husband Mac Edwards and her brother, Bill Kersh. As we see our life in the present move into the past, there is a sadness. A friend of the present, is now in all of our past. We hold dearly and most zealously to those memories… fixing them in time. Pouring them in a mold that will now never change. They become a wonderful book to open again and again as long as we too are still alive. I speak of Nancy Edwards. She was a lot to a lot of people… and a smile to the world. Nancy… we will miss you forever. Funeral services will be 10:00am Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm Monday, June11, 2018 at Edwards Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. To sign an online guestbook, visit
