

Norma Jean Hartsfield Prescott, 83, of Fort Smith, formerly of Caddo Gap, Arkansas, passed from this life March 19, 2016 in Fort Smith, She was born June 6, 1932, in Excelsior, Arkansas, to the late Frank and Rosie Ray Hartsfield. Norma had worked at Baldor Electric Company in Fort Smith and Pyler Hardware in Glenwood, Arkansas. She lived, for many years, and raised her family in Bonanza, before moving to Fort Smith. Norma was a member of Word of Faith Church in Amity, Arkansas.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Charles Prescott; five sons, Donald Dunkerson of Pasadena, Maryland, Wayne Dunkerson and his wife Judy of Hackett, Arkansas, Edward Dunkerson and his wife Beth of Fort Smith, Charles Prescott of Barling, Arkansas and Steve Prescott and his wife Linda of Barling, Arkansas; her daughter, Deloris Griffith of Fort Smith; 18 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by brothers James, Curtis and Paul Hartsfield; one sister, Francis Ray Hartsfield; her daughter, Brenda Kay Dunkerson, and two sons, Frank Dunkerson and David Prescott.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, March 23, 2016 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at U. S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Edwards Funeral Home. The pallbearers will be Kevin and Gregg Dunkerson, Jepp and Garrett Elmore, Michael Prescott and Edwin Creekmore. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Griffith, Travis Prescott, Walter Dunkerson and Leyton and Grant Elmore.
