Oscar Javier Mata, 57, of Fort Smith, died September 5, 2012 in Fort Smith. He was born January 10, 1955 in Monterey, Mexico. He was a former employee of Forsgren Construction and he was of the Catholic Faith.
He is survived by two sons, Javer and wife Melissa Mata of South Dakota and Tony Mata of Dallas, TX; his mother, Gloria Flores of Tyler, TX; one brother, Genaro and wife Marcela of Tyler, TX; three grandchildren; his aunt, Esperanza Hardesty of Fort Smith; and three cousins, Nohemi Saucedo and Arturo Saucedo both of Austin, TX and Juan Saucedo of Fort Smith.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery of Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
