PAMELA J GRIFFIS

July 10, 1952October 9, 2021

Pamela June Griffis was born July 10, 1952 in Monticello, AR to Lea Jane and Edward (Jim) Griffis. Pam went to her heavenly home on October 9, 2021 at the age of 69. She graduated from Van Buren High School in 1970 and then attended UALR where she received a degree in music.

Pam was preceded in death by her loving father, Edward Griffis and her nephew, Ryan Griffis. Pam leaves behind her devoted mother, Lea Jane Griffis of Fort Smith; a brother, Dalton Griffis and wife Valerie of Bentonville; a brother, Brent Griffis and wife Debbie of Fort Smith. She will also be missed by her nephew, Devin Griffis; niece, Lauren Asbery and husband Robby, and their son, Elliot; her nephew Ryan’s wife, Tarah Griffis, and their daughter Emerson, plus many cousins and friends.

Pam enjoyed many years working alongside her father and mother at their family owned pharmacy, Prince Drug of Fort Smith, AR. Pam never had any children of her own, but loved her nieces, nephews, and great nephew and enjoyed taking them to the movies, playing putt-putt, and long chatty visits. Pam’s greatest love was for her Heavenly Father and when she was physically able, she attended East Side Baptist Church of Fort Smith, AR. Even though Pam was often unable to attend church services, she loved watching local services, which along with food network were always playing on her television. Pam’s other great love was playing the piano and enjoyed the time she served as pianist at her church when she lived in Sherwood, AR.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, 201 N. 12th Street, Fort Smith, AR 72901. Private burial will be in Gracelawn Cemetery.

So sorry to hear of Pam’s passing. I know she will be missed by all of her friends and family. Pam was such a sweet person, I always enjoyed talking to her on her visits to Sherman’s Grocery. My Prayers are with you All!

My heart is broken for you all.. Pam will be dearly missed. She was one of a kind and loved us all! She loved visiting and I wish I’ve would have gotten a chance to have done that! I know she would have loved it. Sending lots of prayers and love.
