Pamela Kay Russell, 61, of Roland, Oklahoma, passed this life on Sunday, November 15, 2020 in her home, surrounded by family. Pam was fearfully and wonderfully made by God with one extra chromosome, which made her extraordinary. She was born on July 21, 1959 in Guymon, Oklahoma. Pam attended Bost School in Fort Smith, Arkansas, where she participated in the Special Olympics. She was a member of the Roland Church of Christ.

Pam worked as a nurse, following in the footsteps of her big sister Mary June, at the Roland Family Medical Clinic. She later developed a passion for Fashion Design and would spend countless hours designing her sketches. Pam loved to dance, she loved music, her favorite band was KISS, she loved to go shopping on the weekends, and her favorite restaurant was Red Lobster.

Pam had 4 “Babies” Millie, Michael, Giggles, and Sarah Russell, whom she loved and cared for daily. She also lovingly referred to her sister Nancy as her “Baby Daughter”.

Pam loved all things chocolate and would only drink ice cold Coca-Cola “The REAL Thing”. Pam was loved and cared for by many, but no greater love than that of her mother who relentlessly took care of her for 61 years. We believe Pam was a child sent from above and because of her we all have a stronger faith and richer love.

She is survived by her mother Mary Jo Russell of Roland, OK; brother Dr. Roy Russell (Dr. Debra Russell) of Van Buren, AR; sisters, Mary Lewis Farney (Marion) of Muldrow, OK, “Baby Daughter” Nancy Snow (Lonnie) of Roland, OK, and Jackie Russell Norwood of Roland, OK.

She was proceeded in death by her grandparents Myrtle Pauline Russell and Ralph Dudley Russell, her father Roy E. Russell, her brother-in-law Fred Lewis, and her nephew Trey Thompson.

Private Family Funeral service will be 2 PM Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Roland City Cemetery. Viewing will be Tuesday from 10 AM – 5 PM at Edwards Funeral Home.

Memorials may be sent to Bost Inc. 7701 Zero Street, Fort Smith, AR 72903.

Oh those designs she drew! I don’t know why she picked me to be her “critic” , I was just the lucky one. When she had designs ready to view(you weren’t allowed to look at them until she was ready), I would sit with her and we would discuss each one in detail. She was so proud of them and they were awesome. Im hoping she saved them. The world won’t be the same without you sweet Pam. Till we meet again, all my love.

I met Pam when Nancy and I were in junior high. She quickly nicknamed me “Birdie”. I believe it’s because she considered me her friend, and I was.
She did love to dance and I’ll never forget her showing her dance moves at Celeste’s wedding! She’s dancing with the angels now (probably showing them how to dance). You will be missed by so many sweet Pam.

Pam, Nancy and I were thick as thieves growing up. We loved to dance and sing, especially if it happened to be Elvis singing 😊 rest in love my sweet cousin.
