Born July 15, 1953, in Cartersville, GA. Pam was preceded in death by her parents, James C. and Verniece Welch Roberson. The oldest of six children, Pam grew up nurturing her siblings and preparing for a life of service to her God, family, and community.
Pam was a beloved member of her home church, Grand Avenue Baptist Church, actively involved for more than 45 years, singing in the choir, leading children’s choir, and serving in any capacity needed until her health slowed her down. She retired from ERC Properties after nearly 20 years of service and volunteered at Barling Elementary, reading to children through Partners in Education. Famous for her PamCakes, Nanna and Poppy traditionally served their grands, nieces, nephews and friends a heaping breakfast to kick off each school year, as well as hosting the kid’s teammates before the biggest games. Pam liked to say she created no original recipes, but she was good at making them famous. If you’ve had a PamCake, a rum cake, or her coconut cream pie, you know she was right.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, the love of her life, Stacey Sloat, of Huntington; three children, Stephanie and Gary Passmore, of Huntington, Jennifer and James Woolsey, of Greenwood, AR, and Trey Prieur of Fort Smith, AR; eight grandchildren, Jennah and Seth Lawson, of Booneville, AR, Lorrel and Hunter Thompson, of Sapulpa, OK, Brandon Woolsey, of Springdale, AR, Cooper and Jessica Passmore, of Conway, AR, Emily Woolsey of Conway, Brett Woolsey of Greenwood, Brooklyn Woolsey, of Conway, and Ella Woolsey of Greenwood and Colton Lawson, of Booneville; and two great grandchildren, Zion and Shiloh Thompson, and another on the way, of Sapulpa; two sisters, Lorri Lucas, of Greenwood, and Cindy and Scott Raschke, of Victoria, TX; three brothers, Jim and Paula Roberson of Warner Robbins, GA, Stan Roberson and Greg Roberson of Texarkana, AR; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Sanders of Benton, AR, and Sandi and Bob Conley of Fort Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
The family will receive friends from 2:00–4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, at Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 27, at Grand Avenue Baptist Church, followed by a graveside service at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Gary Passmore, James Woolsey, Gregory Lucas, Adam Lucas and the three grandsons Brandon Woolsey, Cooper Passmore and Brett Woolsey.
Thank you for the mountains of prayers, messages, love and support offered during this time. Pam loved each of you and us.
