Patsy Ann Davidson Clemons

She was born at home, with Dr. Rhine delivering her, and was raised in the Providence community near Thornton. She attended Thornton School where she was known not only for her kindness and character, but also for her talent on the basketball court. She was a wonderful basketball player and enjoyed the friendships and memories she made during those years.

She was an incredible cook, and her kitchen was often the heart of her home. There seemed to be nothing she couldn’t cook well. Family and friends especially treasured her soft-fried potatoes and biscuits cooked on the stovetop—dishes that no one could quite make the way she did. Her cooking was more than preparing a meal; it was one of the ways she showed her love. Many wonderful family memories were made gathered around her table.

She was a faithful member of Thornton First Baptist Church where she served in the area of benevolence. She had a heart for helping others and willingly gave her time and talents, particularly in preparing meals and serving those in need.

Above all, she loved her family. She treasured every opportunity to see them, visit with them, and share time together. She looked forward to family gatherings and visits and found great joy simply in being surrounded by the people she loved. Her family will forever remember her warmth, generosity, strength, faith, and the love she so freely gave.

She leaves behind a legacy that will live on through her family, the traditions she created, the meals she lovingly prepared, and the countless lives she touched through her kindness and service.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred (Ike) Clemons to whom she was married for 54 years; her parents, Johnny Davidson and Annie Steelman Davidson; and her siblings, Sue Davidson Gilbert, Wilton (Bunk) Davidson, and Dorothy Jean Davidson Dunn.

She is survived by her daughter, Dianne Clemons Clawson of Viera, FL, and sons, Phil Clemons of the Providence community near Thornton, and Keith Clemons (Jenna) of Ft Smith. She has 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no funeral services. Her family finds comfort in knowing she left this world peacefully and on her own terms, surrounded by love.
